DICTAPHONE HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS DIVISION Dictaphone® Enterprise Express® System A family of integrated digital dictation, transcription, and report management solutions built on a proven Microsoft® Windows NT® and SQL Server® platform. Enterprise Express allows healthcare organizations to manage dictated voice input, report-transcription, and distribution across multiple departments and facilities, while centrally managing system supervisory functions and workflow on an enterprise-wide level. The Enterprise Express Voice and Text software is designed exclusively for the management of patient information workflow, allowing rapid implementation, integration, and productivity gain, without causing changes in a facility’s procedures or physician practice patterns. Dictaphone® EXSpeechTM Continuous Speech Recognition (CSR) An enterprise-wide speech-recognition platform for the Enterprise Express® System, offers accurate recognition of dictated patient reports from any telephone. Dictaphone Healthcare Solutions Group expects that telephony recognition will promote rapid acceptance among the physician community, while significantly improving report turnaround, and reducing transcription costs. The EXSpeech system will also support PC-based input. EXSpeech system offers three report processing/editing alternatives: speech recognition with physician editing, speech recognition with transcriptionist editing, and traditional transcription where recognition is not utilized. These options provide workflow flexibility for institutions. To assist the editing process, the EXSpeech system incorporates L&H’s Nothing But Speech (NBSTM) technology, an innovative feature that suppresses extraneous spoken information, creating an audio file freed of non-words, long pauses and silence between words, thus resulting in more efficient transcription. The initial disciplines supported by the EXSpeech system will be Emergency Medicine, Acute Care, and Internal Medicine. The Acute Care language model encompasses many of the major report types dictated in hospitals, such as histories, physicals, and discharge summaries. Dictaphone® WalkaboutTM Express A digital hand-held portable voice input device, with specialty features for medical dictation, including an integrated bar-code reader, offering physicians the freedom to capture information while inside or outside of the facility — a capability not possible with stationary devices or on-site wireless solutions. Voice files are downloaded to the Enterprise Express system over the network or Internet network via a high-speed docking station.

Dictaphone® PowerScribe® System Winner of the 1998 Microsoft Healthcare Solution Award, the PowerScribe system cost effectively and rapidly captures, transcribes, and manages dictated clinical information across a network. By combining advanced continuous speech-recognition technology with state-of-the-art digital dictation capabilities, the PowerScribe system provides healthcare organizations with cost savings, faster report turnaround time, and other benefits without sacrificing physician acceptance or transcription accuracy. With the PowerScribe system, users can dictate their reports directly into text, edit, approve, and sign, all within a matter of minutes. Once their reports are dictated, doctors can have them automatically transmitted to various hospital and/or departmental information systems via industry standard protocols. L&H’s Clinical Reporter solution is a full speech to data solution, utilizing advanced data tagging technology to populate Hospital Information Systems (HIS) databases with critical patient information collected through speech dictation. Dictaphone® TransNet Software that provides home-based transcriptionists full on-line access to Enterprise Express system features, while offering economical two-way Internet exchange of voice, text, and associated data. Dictaphone® Boomerang® Enterprise Edition A Windows-based voice recording application that lets physicians dictate on network PCs while concurrently using clinical software, PACS, or medical record applications. A Boomerang hand-mic offers familiar recording controls, while voice files are automatically routed over the network to the Enterprise Express system for processing and transcription. DICTAPHONE COMMUNICATIONS RECORDING SYSTEMS (CRS) DIVISION Dictaphone® FreedomTM A network appliance recording system that literally ”obsoletes obsolescence,” giving contact centers, public safety, and correctional facilities new-found freedom to access and store their voice information wherever, whenever, and however they want. Voice recordings can be stored on any network-attached storage device, and can select a different storage device in the future without making their recording system obsolete. Additionally, Freedom’s plug-in telecommunications interfaces and operating system-independent architecture mean that Freedom can easily adapt should a center upgrade its phone system, operating system, or network. Freedom also provides more ways to access and share voice recordings than conventional systems.
